RhinoCo Technology - Rhino Car Immobilisers Approved in Queensland Subsidy Trial

What is the subsidy trial?

Residents living in the designated trial areas, namely Cairns, Townsville, and Mt Isa, have the opportunity to apply for a $500 voucher online. This voucher is intended to assist them in obtaining and installing an engine immobiliser. To use the voucher, customers need to present it to a registered and approved service provider participating in the trial.

Once a qualified installer is chosen by the customer, they will install an immobiliser device that meets the trial's approval standards for the customer's vehicle from the state's provided list (including Rhino models IM007 and RAKP). The cost of the installation will be offset by the voucher provided. The service provider will then redeem the voucher through the same online platform they used to register for the trial. To ensure transparency and compliance, service providers will be required to submit evidence of the installation they performed.

The state's goal is to reduce the number of car theft incidents which are seemingly on the rise within the state of Queensland. In the words found on their website, their goal is to "increase security and safety among Queensland communities, including enhancing community confidence."

Opportunity for installers

On the state's post about the trial (link), They state: "The QPS is now calling on all interested engine immobiliser installers to register their interest at https://qtenders.epw.qld.gov.au/qtenders/ from Monday 3 July 2023. Installers must be pre-approved through a two-stage registration process and all registered installers will be listed on the QPS website once approved." This is a unique opportunity for Queensland installers to take advantage of.
